Qompendium is an evolving and ever-changing platform for philosophy, art, culture and science, represented by a series of print publications: magazines, books and monographs. Furthermore, it is enriched by a gallery concept, a work shop and a fast-moving online portal.

Meet Toby Christian

Toby Christian is born in Lincolnshire in 1983. Shortly after his graduation in 2007, Christian was included in "4 New Sensations", an exhibition by the Saatchi Gallery and Channel 4. And since 2008 he has been part of different shows on an international level. His work largely includes sculptures with various materials.

Christian creates marble fingers, toes, ears and noses, carved to give the appearance of having been smashed from an out-of-sight original. Other projects include high gloss bulges (Block works), which protrude through architectural openings to create the appearance of a mass of material expanding within a room. Christian's recent Rudder series shows monochrome paintings hung deliberately askew.
