Qompendium is an evolving and ever-changing platform for philosophy, art, culture and science, represented by a series of print publications: magazines, books and monographs. Furthermore, it is enriched by a gallery concept, a work shop and a fast-moving online portal.


Samuel Bonnet and Mael Fournier-Comte

Samuel Bonnet and Mael Fournier-Comte have recently founded the studio sa|m|ael, mainly working on books as thinking, experimenting, exhibition spaces. Both are also involved in the Parallel school of art, a virtual and international school where people interested in self-education can share their current projects and ideas, as well as their learning methods. - An old collection of little books called "Les vieux hôpitaux français", published in the 40s. I don't know the book designer but there are crazy and totally unjustified design choices which make these books precious and unique. Kind of work where the designer probably had a totally freedom about his decisions and didn't had to "make sense" as we have to most of the time.

Born in 1984, Mael Fournier-Comte got involved in graphic design and art projects at the Royal College of Art in London during his studies. Korean-born Samuel Bonnet studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. He is involved in graphic design and art projects ever since. Their researches and experimentations are based on a combination of typography, writting, printing, video and drawing.
