Qompendium is an evolving and ever-changing platform for philosophy, art, culture and science, represented by a series of print publications: magazines, books and monographs. Furthermore, it is enriched by a gallery concept, a work shop and a fast-moving online portal.


Meet Ellen Urselmann

Dutch artist Ellen Urselmann was born in 1978 in Venlo and has lived in Venlo, Maastricht, Amsterdam, Cape Town and Baarlo. In 2000 she graduated at the Academy of Fine Art Maastricht and in 2003 she graduated in glass at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. 

Ellen Urselmann has ever since exhibited her work at various galleries and museums, e.g. Galerie Judy Straten, Braggiotti Gallery, Stellenbosch Galley and the Museum Jan van der Togt exhibited her work. In 2006 when she won the prestigious European Young Artist Prize and so did the international recognition come along. With her work Ellen Urselmann tries to define "The fragility of the present, the tension between future and past".
