Qompendium is an evolving and ever-changing platform for philosophy, art, culture and science, represented by a series of print publications: magazines, books and monographs. Furthermore, it is enriched by a gallery concept, a work shop and a fast-moving online portal.

Started by Alex Spiro and Sam Arthur in 2008, Nobrow is an independent platform for graphic art, illustration and art comics. In what seems to be an ever-expanding digital publishing stage, these are books that deserve to be printed. They not only look good but smell good too and most importantly tell great stories! It was Scheherezade, the wife of the king in One Thousand and One Nights, who was spared death by always telling interesting stories. Everyday she would tell an interesting story and leave off at a defining point so the next day the king would be dying to hear what happened. Imagine if we all told interesting stories in public to avoid being killed off by the mass publishing evolution.

Nobrow also use the best materials and printing methods in the design and manufacturing of their books. They use a process called spot-colour printing, whereby pure Pantone colours are combined in separations to create some of the most vibrant and lucid artwork you will ever see in print. Nobrow Press books are printed in runs of anywhere from 1,500 to 6,000 copies whereas Nobrow Small Press are hand-printed and produced in under 100 copies.

Nobrow have exhibited at Pick Me Up at the Somerset House, TCAF (Toronto Comics Festival), Comica and ELCAF (East London Comics and Arts Festival) and many more.
